Story Time
|
During Tax Preparation Season (February through mid-April) Laurie Harissiadis' Story Time will switch to Wednesdays and Fridays. Children 3 to 5 years of age will meet on Wednesday at 11:00 AM or 1:00 PM. Children 4 to 6 years of age will meet on Fridays at 11:00 AM or 1:00 PM. |
| Children from 3 to 6 years of age will enjoy a variety of stories, songs, activities, videos, puppets, arts & crafts and lots of fun at our story time. |
| Class size is limited to 8 children. In-person registration
is necessary for these free programs. |

| “Introduction to Robotics” - February 2 at 10:00 AM |
A presentation by the Cyber Robotics Learning Center. Boys and girls ages 7-14 may join in the fun at our Introduction to Robotics Special Program. During this 2 hour session, children will observe a demonstration by a C.R.L.C. teacher on tankbot building, touch sensor and light sensor examples, and gears and ROBOLAB programming. Children will then work in teams of 2-4 designing your own robot on a laptop and build it using Legos.
Children must be between 7 and 14 years of age to attend this event. Space is limited to 20 participants. You must register in person at the library. |

| You are invited to join Joan DeLuca for an exciting introduction to reading for both you and your child. Children ages one and a half to three will join their parent and Joan in song, finger play, games, and a project all related to the story read by Joan. This fun-filled, enjoyable program is held on Monday afternoons at 1:30 PM. Due to its popularity, there are Sign-Up sheets for each program available in the library. |

This program is aimed toward children two and a half to ten years of old. It will include the reading of several short stories related to bedtime. Part of the fun and atmosphere will be the bringing of bedrolls or blankets or a favorite stuffed animal and the wearing of pajamas. Programs will be held on the following Thursday nights at 6:30 PM: March 20, April 10, April 24

This program is geared towards children four to ten years of age. A craft project related to the season or a holiday is tied in with a story to promote the children’s interest in reading. Programs are to be held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 6:30 PM.
The winter program will have stories and craft projects that relate to the season and holidays that occur during the winter months. The children will make a snowman and a penguin, design mittens, and create a heart wreath, just to name a few of the exciting projects. |

| Penguin Thermometer - On Thursday night, February 21st at 6:30 PM there will be an enjoyable event for children four to ten years of age. The children are invited to come and listen to a story about penguins. After the story the children will make a penguin thermometer. A Sign-Up sheet will be posted in the library for this event. |
April Showers -
On Wednesday night, April 2nd at 6:30 PM there will be a fun-filled opportunity for children four years of age and older to make a very special project about the season. There will also be a reading of a story related to rain. A Sign-Up sheet will be posted in the library in March. |

| Joan DeLuca is a seven year veteran teacher who has
taught on both elementary and preschool levels. She is a
life-long resident of Lincoln Park. Joan worked at the
Lincoln Park Public Library as a volunteer and at the circulation
desk while in college.She loves books and enjoys stirring the love
of reading in children. |
